On 1/6/21, I participated in a panel at the FIN Global Parents Day event. It was an amazing experience sitting next to parents of kids in care who want to make a difference . See the video below and pic in the gallery
On the 4/5/21, I presented Bayside Child Safety with 25 Mothers Day pamper packs, for Mums who unfortunately won't be able to spend Mothers Day with their children. It's a small way that I can make these Mums feel a bit special in a difficult situation. A big thanks to Bayside Child Safety for allowing me this opportunity to help support parents (photos in gallery)
Tony Tonkin from The Child Protection Party interviewed me, check it out on Spotify - Kids Matter podcast
In November and December of 2020, community leaders from Logan, attended 3 workshops, called Walking Together for Logan Children. Parents on a Mission participated in these workshops, on behalf of parents involved in the child protection system.
The topic of these workshops was around how to improve the system, guided by the lived experience of parents, children, carers and Departmental staff. It was an amazing experience to be a part of these workshops and some fantastic ideas came out of them.
There is a lot of work to be done and, as a parent representative and community leader, I'm committed to bringing the voices of parents into these discussions. As 2021 progresses, plans will be put in motion to start to look at how these changes can be implemented, particularly in the Logan area.
As these plans start to take shape, I will let you know how you can be involved and how you can empower yourself to be a catalyst for change by using your voice. Parents in the system are uniquely qualified to talk about what matters the most to them and your input is greatly valued.
So keep checking my page and website for updates as they come in.
Watch this space... 😊

It's almost time for Child Protection Week and, as the CEO of Parents on a Mission, I'm doing my bit to keep the conversation alive, about how we can all work together to improve outcomes for families involved in the Child Protection system.
What am I doing?
Over the next week, Parents on a Mission will be meeting with stakeholders, as well as members of POAM, to discuss our collective experiences and collect much needed feedback to bring the voices of lived experience of Parents on a Mission members to the Government and community organisations.
We are working together - parents, carers and workers, all to create better outcomes for families

On the 28/5/19, I attended the Relationships Australias launch of their Diversity and Inclusion Statement. This is an important piece of work that I have been personally involved in. I was a participant in the RAQs Access and Inclusion Community Collaboration Group. This group helped provide feedback from people of diverse backgrounds on access and inclusion. This feedback was then used to develop a framework of access and inclusion throughout Relationships Australia. I am very proud to have been a part of something that will create positive change for many people.
